Frequently Asked Questions

Is massage therapy safe in pregnancy?

Yes, pregnancy massage is safe and can help with all kinds of discomforts due to pregnancy and the changes the body is going through. Our therapists will place you in the best possible positions that will not harm you or your baby. Specialized techniques will be used that are geared toward the pregnant body.

Do you have the pregnancy hole in your table?

Absolutely not, those tables with the hole in the center will cause strain on the sacral-uterine ligament in the back, which will cause more back pain as well as increase intra-uterine pressure on the baby. The only safe way to receive a massage is in the side-lying position.

Can massage therapy cause me to start labour?

No, the only thing that can start labour is nature itself.

How many weeks do I have to be before I start the Prenatal Yoga Stretch class?

We ask that you be in your second trimester before you start these classes.

When can I start the postpartum classes?

The age will differ. For infant massage we would like the babies to be at least 6 weeks or older. The amount of massage and touch being done can over stimulate the baby. So, the older they are the more they can tolerate.

As for the fitness classes, we ask that for Mom & Baby Yoga, the mom’s come after their first postnatal check-up which is at 6 weeks. This class will gently introduce your body back into fitness and movement.

Mom & Baby Cardio and Salsa we would like these moms to be at least 8 weeks or more postpartum. Due to the high impact of the classes we would like for the postpartum body to have had time to heal before you put undue stress on it.

Are there make-up classes?

Unfortunately due to our specialized classes there are no make up classes. We hope that when we you commit to coming to our classes that you arrange to make the whole series.

Do I have to make an appointment for a breastfeeding consult?
